Low Income Assistance

In light of the recession the economy is experiencing, the US Government has developed some programs to help assist potential homebuyers looking to purchase a home. In Hernando County, homebuyers looking for a home may be able to qualify for several programs.

The most prominent are:
NSP (Neighborhood Stabilization) Program: As part of the Economic Recovery Act, money is available through the Hernando Department of Health and Human Services, to purchase foreclosures in the following zip codes:

34609

Up to $50,000 is available to purchase and rehabilitate foreclosure homes. The money is in a form of a zero interest loan.
